Labour and Communist Politics in the City of Oxford Between the Wars

Duncan Bowie is a research associate at UCL. He is a member of the executive committees of the the Socialist History Society and the London Labour Housing Group. He is reviews editor of an independent political journal, Chartist, for whom he has written a history column since 2004. His new book ‘Reform and Revolution in the City of Dreaming Spires‘ is to be published by the University of Westminster Press later this year. Duncan was a member of Oxford City Council from 1979 to 1983. He is the author of The Radical and Socialist Tradition in British Planning (2017) and Roots of The British Socialist Movement (SHS 2015). He has also published two books on housing policy.
