We are saddened to learn of the death of Professor Willie Thompson, President of the Socialist History Society, and author of numerous books on socialist history. A full appreciation will follow in due course. We send our deepest sympathies to his family and all his loved ones. Willie made an enormous contribution to the SHS and our work, including editing our journal for many years. He will be greatly missed for his wise words and observations on the state of the world, the direction of modern politics and the history of the left, with his interests in prospects for human progress, ecology, bringing an end to war and injustice. He was a fighter for a better world all his life.
